Extension Schema

The following information is the current Callicity® extension numbering schema.

NOTE: Keep in mind, you should use a 3 or 4 digit extension.

While 211, 611, 711, 911, and 988 (National Suicide Prevention Hotline), are the only N11 numbers officially reserved in all of North America at this time, we strongly recommend not using any N11 extensions, as popular services like 311, 411, and others are reserved in most areas of the country.

Schema Considerations

Organizationally speaking, you may have a business case that should be incorporated into the PBX/schema design.  For example, for a hotel, or hospital, you might want the first digit to represent the floor you need, followed by a room number.

You could consider this same type of numbering schema to create your extensions: 1000s for the first location and 2000s for the second building or location.

Your Callicity® team is here to help design the proper PBX setup for your business needs.  You can create a support ticket or contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance.
